Meet the Island Purveyors Family!

Joei Aranha, Managing Director

Joei Aranha founded Island Purveyors in 2011, drawing on over two decades of management experience in the luxury goods industry. Born and raised in The Bahamas, Joei completed her studies in Britain and the US with a degree in interior design. For 25 years she was a Sales Manager & Area Sales Manager for high-end luxury watches (Tag Heuer, Chopard, Chaumet, Christian Dior), jewelry (Chopard, Chaumet, Poiray), china (Herend, Bernardaud, Philippe Deshoulieres), crystal (Baccarat, Lalique, Kosta Boda, Daum, Orrefors) and leather goods (Chopard, Dior) throughout the Caribbean. Experience was also gained as a buyer of gourmet products for select Bahamian food retailers. Joei's vast knowledge and expertise in the luxury goods field, along with her family ties to a Nassau-based airline charter business, uniquely qualify her to expedite clients and goods throughout The Bahamas and beyond.

Joei's other passions include fine food and wine, gardening, salt life, freediving, spearfishing, lobster season, and playing ball on the beach with her dog and company boss -  "Skipper."

"After all," she says, "someone with a captain's title has to head up the business!"


Sheena Arteaga, Office Manager

Born in Sri Lanka, Sheena moved to Canada at a very young age. After a few years, she traded snow and ice for Bahamian sunshine and palm trees and has never looked back. 

Sheena developed her high level of expertise through many years of secretarial and managerial experience. She worked as a legal secretary, a secretary of an offshore bank, an investment adviser assistant and finally managed the office of an insurance company before landing the position of Office Manager & Secretary at Island Purveyors. Her fantastic legal and business skills make her an asset to the company. 

Sheena’s hobbies include gardening, sewing and playing with her cats.



Danielle Blackwell, Administration Director

Danielle was born and raised on Andros, the largest island in The Bahamas. She obtained her Graduate’s Degree with Honors from the University of Western Ontario before moving back to paradise. Surrounded on all sides by the gorgeous Bahamian shoreline, Danielle pursued her dream of becoming a dolphin trainer where she enjoyed working with marine life and guests. 

After a time, she began working as a restaurant manager and mastered the food and hospitality industry over a period of several years. It was during this time that she discovered her true passion – hospitality – and shortly after she was hired at Island Purveyors in the capacity of Administration Director. 

Danielle assists with the daily running of the company and especially enjoys assisting with yacht orders.

In her free time, Danielle enjoys spending time with her family, swimming at the beach, walking, gardening and reading.


Pascual Gomez, Lead Purveyor & Ground Operations

Pascual grew up in Eleuthera and moved to Nassau during his high school years. He began his career in the field of electrical maintenance, but soon realized his love of the hospitality industry. He worked for six years in an exclusive luxury hotel as a waiter and bartender, where he had hands on experience with high-end food and beverages. 

He jumped at the opportunity to work for Island Purveyors where he now puts his hospitality skills and knowledge of the hospitality industry and gourmet food to great use.  Pascual assists with purchasing and delivering orders to clients.  

Pascual enjoys detailing and racing cars, playing basketball and rugby, fishing and listening to his music collection.


Elvis (Ellie) Brathwaite, Assistant Purveyor

Born and Raised in Nassau, Bahamas Ellie has always enjoyed meeting new people.  His love of people lured him into the hospitality industry right out high school.  Ellie has worked for a few of the top resort hotels and communities in Nassau.  Having been, employed in the hospitality industry for over ten years Ellie has gained endless knowledge in customer service. 

Ellie's passion for meeting new people, and gaining new knowledge or learning new things is what brought him to Island Purveyors.  Ellie assists with purchasing and delivering of client orders.

In Ellie's free time he enjoys reading, playing strategy games, and drag racing. 


Raquel Burrows, Office Assistant & Assistant Purveyor

Raquel was born and raised in Nassau, Bahamas.  She has always had a love for meeting new people.  She began working at a high end retail shoe store in Nassau soon after completing high school. With her knowledge and interest in customer service, she was a natural fit for Island Purveyors.

Raquel assists with fulfilling customer orders and deliveries as well as helping out with other daily office duties.  Raquel is always eager to learn new things and meet new people.

In Raquel's free time she enjoys basketball, music, traveling, and reading.  


Terry Esguerra, USA Lead Purveyor

Terry graduated from Florida International University in Miami, Florida with a Bachelor of Arts degree. With an extensive background in marketing, Terry has worked with several beauty and fragrance companies.  She has worked as a manager for a large printing company and has experience in product distribution on an international level. 

Her interpersonal skills and expertise makes her the perfect liaison for our U.S. customers. 

Terry enjoys traveling, reading, biking, tennis, listening to music and playing some percussion. In her spare time she dreams of buying a house in the Florida Keys.


Skipper, Da Boss

Skipper loves playing with his toys, and sneaking out of the office to chase birds and to eat grass.  He also enjoys playing tug of war, chasing after balls, but most of all, he loves having the Island Purveyors Family chase him since he always wins.

Skipper is a sweetheart and he makes the days at the office fun and full of adventure.
